Where did all the parts and services come from?
An essential part of any restoration project is having a good network of people and businesses that can fix what needs fixing or provide parts that need replacing (or were missing altogether). Here is a list of some of the many folks that made this project possible.
Most of the mechanical parts came from Tom Hannaford at Then & Now Automotive in Weymouth, MA. I've dealt with Tom for 25 years now and, as we say in Maine, "He's used me well." Tom is a virtual encyclopedia of information on old cars and is very willing to share it, even if he doesn't have the part you need. Usually he does though. His website is: www.then-now.com/
I've also found a lot of parts on eBay, and other mechanical parts at:
N.B. Pease in Palmer, MA (413) 283-7620
Northwest Transmission in OH 800-327-1955
Paul's Pontiac in VA pedecker@erols.com
Terrill Machine (bearings) 254-893-2610
Ficken rebuilt my wiper motor (www.wiperman.com)
Apple Hydraulics rebuilt my shocks (www.applehydraulics.com)
Classic Accessories had an oval rear window and wiper arms (http://classicaccessories.org)
Wiring and electrical parts came from Rhode Island Wiring Supply (www.riwire.com/) and Vintage Wiring of Maine (www.vintagewiringofmaine.com)
Halogen bulbs came from Classic & Vintage Bulbs in Australia (www.classicandvintagebulbs.com)
John Wolf & Co rebuilt my gas tank sending unit (888-309-0453)
Paul's Chrome is doing the plating (http://www.paulschrome.com)
Bill Hirsch provided the convertible top and engine paint (www.hirschauto.com)
Steele rubber was my source for rubber parts (http://166.82.96.9/homeframes.html)
Precision Rubber is doing my new running boards (www.runningboardmats.com)
Grain It Technologies is doing the woodgraining (http://woodgraining.com)

Roger Kaster at bkaster0405@rogers.com restored my heater.
Restoration Specialties in Windber PA provided hardware and fasteners (www.restorationspecialties.com)
Color-Rite in Bethany, CT will provide the original paint (203.393.0240)
Brake Equipment Warehouse in MN rebuilt brake cylinders (612) 378-3141
Ft. Wayne Clutch rebuilt the pressure plate 800-258-8243
Oak Bows did the top bow (717) 264-2602
JF Sullivan in Worcester MA rebuilt the ignition switch & voltage regular (508-792-9500)
Waldron's exhaust the stainless pipes and NOS muffler 616-467-7185
Paul Taylor in CA made me a new glove box (805-489-7822)
And last but not least are all the local folks who have been very helpful: Lewiston Transmission, Al's Auto Body, Leo's Custom Upholstery, Castanguay Electric, Palmer Spring, Buko Starter, Budd's Gulf, Lewiston Radiator, Engine Kraft, Bonneau's Garage and Creative Glass.
The only vendor I had an unsatisfactory experience with was A.G.U.S. Glass in NC.
Thanks everyone! Glad to do my part to keep this segment of the American economy strong.
