Almost running…

Made more progress today on the chassis and should be ready to fire it up next time. Today we…

• Got the clutch linkage all connected and the pedal adjusted;
• Installed the starter, plugs & ignition wires, at least for now;
• Bolted in the carburator, valve covers, water pump, oil breather, heat tube, bell housing pan;
• Painted the block Indian head red;
• Properly installed the steering box seal (had it backward) and adjusted the steering (no play in the wheel!);
• Got the LR shock ready to paint;
• Flanged and bolted in the fuel line on both ends;
• Got the exhaust system laid out and ready for installation once I have the donut gasket.

I would have had the generator and fan installed, but was missing some parts. 94 miles is too far to go home and get them, so they'll wait until next time.

It still needs a distributor vacuum line, some fuel line fittings to and from the fuel pump, and a few other minor things, but it is close to running.

Ken and Chris worked on fenders all day. The two fronts are very close to done; the rears need quite a lot of patching; all but one panel of the hood is finished.

Finally, we decided Martini Brown is the final color.
