It's body building time…

The weakest point of the body is the rear floorpan where water collected from leaks around the rumbleseat lid. It was rusted out and fiberglassed over in the last restoration. Ken removed all the fiberglass and made this patch panel for the floor, which will now be welded in place:

Meanwhile, the body itself is in red primer to prevent oxidation, awaiting all the finish work that must come next to get it ready for painting. Here's what it looks like at the moment.

I found the missing deck latch I needed at I & I Restoration in CA, which reproduces a great deal of Chevrolet parts. Theirs was made for a 1936 Chevy cabriolet, but is an exact match for mine. After seeing their catalog, I went and ordered several other interchangable parts: rubber corner bumpers for the rumbleseat lid, headlight trim rings, spring bumpers, air clear decal, Fisher body tag and a few others. Wish there was a place like that just for Pontiacs!
